I've got Balatro on my mobile. Fun card game that kept my interest during an international flight, there and back. I've now completed all the side quests and all chips for probably 5 different decks. Worthwhile game, but more of a mobile game. If I'm at my PC, I'm not playing a card game, ya know?

To each his own, and the mobile port is very good - but it did come out on PC first...

They should have the workshop for steam which lets you add mods on, so I'm going to get on pc when it drops enough in price

Balatro is massively over-rated. It feels like a mobile game - it is worth a couple of hours, but gets old pretty quickly. Bought it on iPhone and wished I could leave a steam review to dilute a little of the glaze, but I guess dropping my opinion here will do. No shade to people who love it, but its shallow, repetitive, forgettable and not going to hold everyone's attention.
Fights in tight spaces is excellent as is Slay the Spire.
Inscryption is awesome - but don't do any research, go in blind and you'll probably love it.
Midnight Sons had SOOOO much potential and the production values are off the charts, but its about 70% click through visual novel and somehow they made it sooo dull!

Shallow?
I was keeping pages of notes based on different strats and builds to reach new high scores…hours and hours later still felt like I hadn't scratched the surface of what's possible in that game.
It may be repetitive due to grinding in some areas, but if you're even remotely into strategy, card games, or poker…it's a deep dive into addiction.
Your assessment feels like someone that purposefully chose not to get into the nuance of the game and put it down after a brief surface-level stint. Which I guess I don't blame you because it's insanely addictive after a few wins.

Do rouge-like games usually work for you? Curious if it's Balatro you didn't care for or the genre which tends to be pretty repetitive.
