Wait 5–15 minutes during surge pricing
Prices after concerts, bars closing, sporting events, or rush hour often drop fast once more drivers arrive. Many surges fall sharply within 10–15 minutes.
Walk a few blocks away
Leaving a busy pickup zone can save a lot because surge pricing is hyper-local. Walking 2–3 blocks can sometimes cut $5–$15 off a ride.
