I was very excited for this monitor until I read it has that awful matte coating. If you're looking for the glossy pop that only glossy OLED monitors can show, this is not it.

the 45" is better. 39", the screen aspect ratio vertically is smaller, even though it's 5k2k, it's still smaller than the 45".

I just got the 45", am still in the return window and trying to figure out what the real advantage of this would be aside from the higher PPI/newest generation panel.

Edit: ended up pulling the trigger after all. Tandem OLED panel supposedly reduces burn-in risk but for me the most important thing is increased brightness as I am probably 90/10 productivity vs gaming and while I was able to push brightness with HDR + BetterDisplay I've got a bright bay window in my room to contend with. Extra PPI should be nice also although the 45 was no slouch in that regard either. Was $117 upgrade from the latest Amazon deal for the 45.

Besides the size what is the difference between this and the 45GX90SA-B that was $949 in January at BB?
Is this a highwr series?

Latest tandem OLED panel, higher pixel density and brightness mostly. Reduced power consumption and potential for less burn-in as well.

That 45" is 3440x1440. So pixel density in this 39" 5120x2160 is much much higher. Also a brighter panel.

Yeah because there's nothing better than screen glare when you're trying to enjoy your perfect contrast.

LG's matte coating is in a different league, it's subtle but effective. I have a glossy OLED on my laptop and a matte LG OLED monitor, and enjoy the LG monitor far more in a room with any kind of ambient light.
