I have this vacuum. It's useless. Loses suction quite fast due to a small filter.

I'm kinda surprised they haven't come out with an updated version. An upgrade to the existing filter would be appreciated, too.

Tell me about it. I've been waiting for an update as I have the batteries.

Had this for 2 years now, absolutely love this very handy it's very light and it's very portable. Empty the dustbin and clean out the filter before every use and it could suck the chrome of the tow hitch. J/k.. But it works pretty well for what it is. People are acting like it's a handheld Dyson or something not sure what all the complaints are about.

This vacuum blows..

But seriously, it's trash. I'm heavily invested into Ridgid battery tools. Several thousand $, and have owned every version of this handheld vacuum released in the last 10+ years, since pre-Gen5 days. They have all been trash for the exact reason user Keepinitslick mentioned, the filter design is terrible and hasn't been updated since 2014. They updated every single part but the filter design. The bin is better, the moter is better, even the trigger got updated, but the worst part stayed. Every time a bewer version comes out, I buy it hoping its fixed. It never has been. Sure, you could clean it every single time you use it, if you're into working ON your tools before working on your task, but honestly, whoTF wants to do that?

Just buy the Ryobi 1 gallon vac (used with a Ryobi to Ryobi battery converter off Amazon), much better and 10 times the suction

Like others, I also own this, it's junk.

That Ryobi vac is also on sale at DT. Factory blemished, $45. Available only at local stores though. No ship to home or store. Link is here.

This is the upgraded version to the one I currently have waiting for return from repair again. The old model had the switch vertically in the back of the handle. This one is on top and might be better, supposedly it's stronger. Maybe they'll send me this version, but really I'm trying to catch the toolbox version of Ridgid's vacuum on sale. I know it has hit $80 before.

I had two of these (they came packaged with other tools) and ended up throwing them away since they kept clogging and no one wanted them on Craigs list.

Gotcha, I have the old one, too. Didn't realize they made an update that still sucks (but not well). The thing I hate most about mine (aside from the clogging and low power) is that half the time someone swaps a tool or extension, they end up twisting off the dust compartment spilling crap.

I also have the older Ridgid toolbox sized vac. Also not very good. I don't understand how a company that started with Vacs is so bad at them.
