Singapore is an impressive destination. The airport is a destination all by itself. Singapore is clean, friendly and they speak english. The only downside is that it is always hot and humid there.

i've always said if there was a layover at SIN, i'd choose one with the longest time!

Good price. Cannot vouch for United for long haul international flight though.Definitely hit the hawker centers for inexpensive and good food.

They're fine. Last month I flew round trip SFO to Hong Kong. The experience doesn't compete with Asian airlines like ANA, but I enjoyed it more than my many trips to Asia on Delta.

I flew on Singapore from LAX. 18 hour flight there was brutal. Flight back was better. After 10 hours, that seat feels like concrete.
