Note that quicker cooking oats have a higher glycemic index, if you're watching that sort of thing. Good price regardless.

I haven't seen "quick rolled oats" but "rolled oats" are ideal for overnight oats.

Yes! I use them for overnight oats every single day. I primarily get the 7-pound bag from Costco at a lower price per pound. Additionally, I sometimes don't even soak overnight and eat them cold right away, as I enjoy the chewiness.

What 7 lb bag? The Kirkland brand ones (now discontinued) or the ones from Quaker (not organic)?

Oops, my mistake, as I get the Organic Bob's Red Mill steel-cut oats from my local Costco in Northern California for $11.99, IIRC...

How are you liking the steel cut oats because from what I've been reading online, everyone seems to only be recommending the rolled oats for overnight oats purposes. Obviously if you're using them for something else then never mind haha.

Looking more closely, it's the "Bob's Red Mill ORGANIC QUICK COOKING STEEL CUT OATS" version that is less processed and should result in a lower blood sugar spike. I used to use rolled oats for overnight oats, but I switched to steel-cut in late 2018 while studying plant-based nutrition. It seemed a bit weird at first, but now I much prefer the chewiness of steel-cut oats for both overnight and uncooked cold oats. Give it a try! Smilie
