I used to work at KFC. The mashed potatoes is powder and water. The lousiest side they offer.

secret: go to your local grocery store like Safeway or Albertsons, they frequently have $5 bucket of fried chicken and its 100x better than KFC trash. But get it when it's hot from the fryer or else it won't taste nearly as good!

Everyone has gotten into the, let's raise prices and blame it on gas prices, they won't go back down though.

KFC's Tuesday bucket deal is a cheap way to get a full chicken meal, especially when the app or a participating store shows the 8 piece dark meat bucket at the advertised price. The portions can be generous, with large thighs, biscuits, and sides making it enough for multiple dinners in some orders. The main drawback is consistency, since availability varies by location and the chicken can arrive dry, oily, salty, soggy, or stale. It feels like a solid value when the store is participating and the batch is fresh.

  • Shoppers in areas where the Tuesday bucket is actually participating, because the deal can be bought at multiple local locations and the app price can be far below regular pricing.

    tiggardDAC21

  • Dark-meat fans wanting a filling chicken meal, because the Tuesday bucket is dark meat only and the thighs can be huge.

    DAC21ElCheapo37

  • Families wanting a cheap Tuesday dinner, because the 8-piece bucket can feed two meals with leftovers for under $22.

    DAC21

  • Drivers comparing fast-food dinner prices, because the bucket can undercut a local hamburger combo priced at $14.

    ElatedCalculator204

  • People who want consistently crisp chicken, because the chicken can come oily, soggy, overfried, or dry.

    Xoblaimjace319airbenderTenderClass540

  • Shoppers expecting the same deal at every location, because participation and pricing can vary by store and some locations do not offer it.

    RelaxedClub5291smokey0066tiGGGSlickCrow776

  • Anyone comparing it to grocery-store fried chicken, because nearby grocery stores can sell cheaper chicken that is described as better.

    GerpaxDrRadBubbles69SaverDaddy

  • White-meat eaters wanting mixed pieces, because the Tuesday bucket is dark meat only.

KFC been oily lately. Just like eating drenched breaded oil. Not even crunchy. And freaking salty as shit

my local WinCo grocery has better fried chicken for $8
It has been a very long time since I had KFC that was not salty as hell. Probably cause it is borderline fried carrion.

The quality of product and service between KFC locations is just crazy. I travel for work and every Tuesday, I try to grab the bucket special. I've been to about 20 different KFC locations in the past year. Most locations I have been to have old, stale, dark looking chicken. Last week I even had to come back and return the chicken and the kid told me, yeah we tried to reheat it but yeah I'll give you a new batch that just went in. Biting into that was the most disgusting piece of chicken I ever had.
Several other locations have this grey, nasty chicken and reading all the reviews, they are generally true. But there are hidden gems where at least 2 locations I generally go to have chicken that tastes similar to the old school Kentucky Fried Chicken days, PRE KFC and the decent quality. Unfortunately thats 2 locations out of 20 that have the quality that should be the normal.
Be sure to read the reviews of the KFC you are going to, they are generally true. I feel for the service workers but man, this generation has the worst.

Sure, it's literally a loss leader to get you into the store (where it is illegal to leave without spending $300, or at least that's what my wife says), and you need a membership to use it. Not saying Costco food deals are bad - they're very good - but not exactly apples to apples.
That's just a good marketing ploy. Costco does NOT take a loss on its products. Even the hot dogs. They just say they 'lose' X millions because they are calculating the projected profits on what they could have made.

Someone else found this out!!!

Albertson's was where my family bought their fried chicken from. Vons was good for bagels.

If you travel for work, you are brave!!
I eat nothing but just bland foods potatoes, crackers, etc. One undercooked chicken or dairy product and that could be an issue.
