secret: go to your local grocery store like Safeway or Albertsons, they frequently have $5 bucket of fried chicken and its 100x better than KFC trash. But get it when it's hot from the fryer or else it won't taste nearly as good!

It has been a very long time since I had KFC that was not salty as hell. Probably cause it is borderline fried carrion.

The quality of product and service between KFC locations is just crazy. I travel for work and every Tuesday, I try to grab the bucket special. I've been to about 20 different KFC locations in the past year. Most locations I have been to have old, stale, dark looking chicken. Last week I even had to come back and return the chicken and the kid told me, yeah we tried to reheat it but yeah I'll give you a new batch that just went in. Biting into that was the most disgusting piece of chicken I ever had.
Several other locations have this grey, nasty chicken and reading all the reviews, they are generally true. But there are hidden gems where at least 2 locations I generally go to have chicken that tastes similar to the old school Kentucky Fried Chicken days, PRE KFC and the decent quality. Unfortunately thats 2 locations out of 20 that have the quality that should be the normal.
Be sure to read the reviews of the KFC you are going to, they are generally true. I feel for the service workers but man, this generation has the worst.

Albertson's was where my family bought their fried chicken from. Vons was good for bagels.

If you travel for work, you are brave!!
I eat nothing but just bland foods potatoes, crackers, etc. One undercooked chicken or dairy product and that could be an issue.
