I'm still loving my C2 and anyone kicking around the idea of snagging an OLED should jump all over that 65" price.
"At a $500+ difference, I'd say the B5 is the smarter value buy.
At $270? The C5 starts making a lot more sense because:
- you keep TVs a long time
- OLED brightness matters every single day
- the processor upgrade affects everything you watch
- resale value will likely hold better
- if you already own premium displays you are likely to notice the difference
The biggest thing is this:The B5 will impress you because it's OLED.
The C5 will still impress you after the honeymoon period because the HDR and brightness headroom are materially better. That's usually what separates "great value OLED" from "premium OLED."
Tom's Guide measured the C5 at nearly double the HDR brightness of the B5 in some testing scenarios, plus better glare handling and processing.
One additional angle:
The C4/C5 class TVs historically become the "safe recommendation" models that hold value and stay relevant longer. The B-series tends to age into "budget OLED" territory faster.
So if:
- the extra $270 does not materially bother your budget
- you plan to keep it 4–7 years
- you care about HDR/gaming/image quality
…I'd go C5 without much hesitation. "Sign up for a Slickdeals account to remove this ad.
