Out of curiosity, is there a rule of thumb when it comes to square toe or more rounded/pointed toe w/ outfit? Would this be considered more casual?

I used to be a daily suit wearer for work and honestly, it depends on your personal style. These to me are more contemporary, casual, and would pair well with a smart casual look like a sports coat and jeans. I have several pairs of the round/pointy type and they complement my full suit sets or formal wear.

How are the quality with these. I just got the mens warehouse ones today and they are a huge step down from my XC4 that I've had for about 8 years. The leather almost feels fake on the new ones

Johnston and Murphy is one of those brands that makes bad shoes for DSW and high quality shoes for their own stores. If you buy from a cheap retailer, you get a cheap shoe. I had a DSW pair and hated them, but after I looked at the actual Johnston and Murphy store in person, they sell very high quality shoes.

These are terrible looking, even for $40. Going straight back. I echo the other comments in the thread. These are not standalone store quality.
