I have this tool. It's great for being 20v. It will bog if you apply too much pressure or if the limb is too big, then you have to pull back and get the blade speed back up. For small projects I prefer this over my flexvolt saw because it's light and you can use it one handed.

This is a great price.

I'm sure it's a fine pruning chainsaw, but I happened upon this one on Amazon and it has proved to be fantastic https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D7GL5BWC , or this one https://www.amazon.com/Cordless-C...Param=true it's only $49.99 (same saw different color). 12" bar, brushless motor, standard pitch easily replaceable chain, 2 4.0 Ah generic Makita type batteries, auto oiler, tool-less chain tensioner, and well balanced design. It's designed for two hand use, but with the battery behind the handle I have no problem using it with one hand. The safety switch is easy to use with either hand. Sometimes branches need to be cut into smaller pieces and I like to be able to hold the branch with one hand and the saw with the other. I paid $45 a couple of weeks ago, but it's still an excellent value in my opinion. It has plenty of power and cuts very large branches with ease. The batteries it comes with are good quality can be used with many generic tools. For example, I have a couple of mini chainsaws (6" and 8"), and a cordless pruner that they're compatible with. I'm just say'in, if you don't want to spend as much this is a lot of cordless saw for the money.

Aside from my drills/drivers, this is the tool that gets used the most.

Great for limbing/cleaning up trees

I should use the cheapest, no-name product that I can find for the most dangerous tool in my garage - for the most dangerous task a homeowner can perform? Made in a country notorious for its inattention to product and people safety standards? Whoa..All should choose as they wish, but for me, this is probably like tattoos and sky diving lessons: not good areas for buying based primarily on price

I have this tool, and it is AWESOME. Plus, this is a spectacular price. 98% of my homeowner trimming and tree work is done with this saw. The big chainsaw stays in the box even with heavy storm damage. Make sure to buy extra chains

Leaks oil. Store it flat on carboard with the oil cap face down (it keeps the oil off the chain bar which is where it leaks). Others have said to just drain the oil out.

Both the generic saws and the DeWalt have a two-stage safety trigger. There's absolutely nothing inherently unsafe about the the chainsaws I mentioned. They're actually well balanced and easy to use. Accidents with chainsaws are almost always due to operator error. We're in agreement that chainsaws can be very dangerous, especially if you don't know what you're doing, or get complacent. That's the real danger, if you stop using good technique because you're not paying attention. I will say as far as safety, the tool-less chain tensioner on the Dereal is super convenient, something the DeWalt doesn't even have. Keep your chain tightened and you should be fine.

It's also true that the DeWalt has an extra "integrated tip guard" safety feature, but that would only get in the way for me. If you can't safely operate a chainsaw without a tip guard, maybe you shouldn't be using a chainsaw. All I'm sayin is I've already used "Dereal" extensively, and it's performed great, no issues.

The price has always been at $99. The only problem is that this chainsaw is a joke. I had 2 and they both stopped working after about 7 cuts.
