TMR sticks are also magnetic non-contact, so they are less likely to develop drift due to wear. The main benefits TMR have over Hall Effect is that TMR sticks have a lower power draw than Hall Effect (leading to a slightly longer battery life) and they have a much higher resolution (Hall Effect has 300ish points across a single axis, TMR has 3,000 points) so they are far more precise.

I've been thinking about getting one of these, but how comfortable would this be vs a phone mount for a controller?

Probably better honestly, keeps the device between the handles, keeps your hands wider (better ergonomics) and there's less chance of the mount breaking off the controller?

I found the Razer one to be a little too flimsy (it was the v2 so it may have improved with the v3). I opted for the Backbone controller and felt it was much more solid, and the buttons/sticks felt better too. The Backbone software seemed better as well, but I rarely used it other than for a few screen captures/recordings.

Tmr joystick is an evolution of hall effect joystick. Capacitive joystick and Tmr gen 2 (recently introduced in gamesir g7 8k controller) makes hall effect controller outdated.

tmr and hall are similar technology it just uses magnetic conduction to determine a range of numbers which doesn't have as much contact points to be inaccurate over timeby the time you ruin a hall effect sensor then you would of worn out other components well before drift occurs

outdated is not a great choice of words

the gaming industry didnt want to use hall effect cause they wanted you to pay more for each controller by planned obsolescence

check your case on if it's going to fit

or buy a slim/bikini case to use with this

doesn't affect people who go caseless
