This should be sub $300 in my opinion, based on what else is out there, that is or has been close to this price

I can't believe Costco had this thing for $299 a year ago. I thought I'd wait until I needed it, well I need it now, dang. In for one.

With the current turmoil going on, not surprising.
Likely to continue for the next 3 years also!

I highly suggest you take a look at A1Evo express.
It basically offers comparable Dirac room correction performance for free!
Game changer for D&M owners!

Will be ok for 3.1. Acceptable barely for 5.1. It lacks power for additional speakers
Lol. Why would you think that? I bought this last time it was on the front page. Plenty of power for my Polk Signatures.

Agreed on baseless low power claim. It has discreet amps for all channels-from their website: ...This premium, traditional amplifier design uses separate, dedicated electronic components rather than an all-in-one integrated chip, resulting in cleaner power delivery, superior heat dissipation, and the robust, dynamic sound quality Denon is known for.". I have this receiver and really like it although to other points, I got it much cheaper last year.

How does this compare to my old x2300? I love this receiver for my 5.1 setup. Miles ahead of my even older Onkyo and Sony models. Denon sound is just perfect for me and my Klipsch.

I would imagine the equivalent to your 2300 these days would be the 2900, which just came out. You should keep an eye out for discounting on the 2800 but it won't include Dirac like the 2900.

Got two of these on the Costco sale 1.5 years ago- one in a 2.1 turntable setup, and one in a 3.1 home theater setup. The granular control is nice, and being able to group and stream Spotify from both systems at the same time is nice. They are EXCELLENT once you dial in the sound, which can take a bit. I've used both Audyssey and more recently REW + A1 Evo Acoustica for the level/room correction, preferring the latter after a bit of a learning curve (pun slightly intended).

I did have problems with streaming Tidal on them which was obviously a Tidal problem since other services worked fine. It does not support Youtube Music and when trying to stream it using bluetooth, the receiver would frequently stop playing and require power cycling to try again. I gave up on that and just went back to Spotify.
