thnx, how does this compare to the spectracide deal at lowes for five bux?
is this better, I like home depot as shipping is free but lowes charging bux.

I do notice a lot of dead bugs after I spray Spectracide around my house but I also feel like the residue didn't last long. With Spectracide, I'd have to spray every 3 weeks.

thanks for the review, I have been using spectracide, maybe give ortho a try. Also home depot may price match.

This stuff has always been my go-to bug spray around my house for at least the last decade or so. Great for treating problem areas where bugs already are, and great for just treating the perimeter around your house -- doors, windows, etc.

Good price. One day I looked at the different insecticide labels at my Home Depot. Every bottle was just a different concentration or a non-unique combination of pyrethroid insecticides. Periodically, you may want to rotate the insecticides chosen to some of a different modal activity. The same is true for herbicides, also.

Do you need to use any PPE while spraying I have heard that you do but I am not sure. I guess it can't hurt do you wear a mask, gloves, and then probably throw your clothes into the wash.

First time I used this I got an instant headache and runny nose. Now I put on a respirator when spraying the perimeter. I also recommend putting it in a battery powered sprayer for convenience.

The responsible thing to say would be yes, wear gloves and a mask at minimum (the product photos show the user wearing gloves). But do I? No. This stuff doesn't have a potent scent to it, it's water based, and it is made for indoor or outdoor use. I'm not touching the stuff, so I'm not too worried about gloves. I do have the battery powered spray wand, so my hands are a bit further from the source than with the trigger sprayer.


The lawyers at Ortho - whose only job is to protect them, and not so much you - say to wear long sleeves and pants with chemical resistant gloves. Just don't ingest the stuff, avoid getting it on your skin, and don't spray it above your head without eye protection.

Good context, thanks, guys! I have an unopened jug from a prior deal that I never got around to using. I'll mask up (have plenty of them anyway) and get some gloves.
