I'd been waiting for a deal on a COD game I could play on steam deck. I ended up buying "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Digital Legacy Edition" - which includes both Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered for $31.99. Seemed to be the best price per game I could find with steam deck comparability per proton db

Some of the older COD titles are vulnerable to remote access trojans. Do your research before you purchase.

Correct, any older titles that use P2P network connection (instead of client-server-client) are vulnerable to RCE.
However if you play them (BO1/2, MW3, WAW) using Plutonium client, you're safe because they patched the RCEs: https://plutonium.pw/docs/improved-security/
So you can still buy them on Steam but launch the game using Plutonium

Last I checked with MW 2019 - they were banning basically ANY username for profanity, and there was no fix. This was like a month ago or so. Did they fix it?

I bought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2023) for $5.99 directly on steam in March, so it has been cheaper. I think around $19-$20 has been the typical steam sale price for this game though, and I never saw it below that before.

that was such an anomaly.. i was really surprised by that. the call of duty games never get deep discounts until they're pretty old, then the sale price still never goes below $20. Even the expansion pack for CoD 1, which came out in 03, only goes on sale from $20 to $15 ha. I would not expect CoD MW to ever go on sale for $6 again!
