Then don't comment such stuff when you can't provide any sort of proof to back it up. We can all comment such things on every deal posted here just to throw people off.

Not a bad deal for a 16 inch pro. It's aging but it'll still hold up a couple more years. Nice deal if you want to do creative work on a budget.

The m5 is like twice as fast as the M1 Pro. Will you notice? Maybe. My M1 Pro is still great and should last for another couple of years. I'm generally the bottleneck when it comes to work, so twice as fast doesn't matter to me.

Worth selling my M1 Air for this to hold me out for another few years until the OLED Macbook Air comes out? Thoughts?

I considered the one you referenced... I don't care about the ssd size. I ultimately decided to go with the 16gb ram. I'm upgrading from an original 13" m1 with 8gb. The 13" has been a workhorse.. its survived a couple water incidents. Im only upgrading because I left it out in the rain. that killed the video out.

Yes I think so if you have a good reason to get 32gb today. Most mac users are fine with 16gb. I got a 32gb for local ai stuff and it's awesome but I wish I spent a 200 more to get a max instead of a pro. M1 max systems are closer to 1k though

According to passmark score. The M1 Pro chip is somewhere between an M3 and M4 in multi core score. Of course single core score is quite a big jump over the M1. But I'm sitting here thinking.... might be a "cheap" way to get a large screen MacBook with decent specs. I just fear who previously owned this. Maybe they spilled something on it and that random drop of soda randomly breaks a connector on the main board randomly down the road even though it's fine right now. And of course the condition of the battery is critical.

I dont even have a reason to ever have a new laptop, it does everything I need, nice screen, nice speakers, nice size, heavy as shit, but whatever.

I paid like $1800 from Amazon Renew a few years ago. This machine is a monster and I do it all from video editing, VFX, development, and Mac Gaming...it's a beast and I have no regrets paying what I did when I did. You can't go wrong here.
