"This product does not meet California air cleaner regulation requirements, and cannot be shipped to California"
But it allows me to buy the "Coyote" color. California/Amazon/Liberals make little sense.
Almost everything causes cancer in Cali now.

Its not that it doesn't meet the standards, its that the manufacturer didn't file the paperwork saying it does. Hence why the other color is fine.
In this case, its just amazon being dumb.

I have a few similar form factor lights from acebeam. They seem superior and cheaper... what am I missing?

You're not missing anything. Streamlight prices are based on their name. Sadly for them there are lots of good lights out there for less.

Coyote usually runs $33 for rechargable. I buy these constantly. They work great, and streamlight honors their warranty on them

This should actually be around the MSRP for what you're getting.

I wouldn't buy this and would discourage others from buying it at $28. Color temp is 7100K, which is fine for a keychain-friendly light since you'll want to prioritize efficiency over a pleasant warm hue with higher contrast. CRI is 71, which is bad. Again, none of this means it's bad, but at $28 you're paying a premium for a cheap light and cheap LED. AAA li-ion is nice though. They go for ~$2 if you buy a multi-pack. It'll be expensive to just buy a single one.

It's nice that the tailswitch has momentary on with partial depress, and on-off toggle with full depress. ZeroAir says [zeroair.org] the the on-off trigger depth is far down, so it'll be great for momentary on. I don't really agree that the deep on/off toggle is that big a deal. Prevents accidental presses and make momentary easier to trigger.

MicroUSB basically means it's not easily rechargeable unless you frequently have access to a microUSB cable. I just got a newer Kindle with USB-C and finally can take my tiny microUSB cable out of my charger bag for travel.

I want to be clear, this is not a bad light nor does it have bad features. However, at $28, it's definitely not a good price.

I like my AAA Microstream flashlights and would consider this only if it was USB-C.

$30 for a flashlight that uses micro-USB is a non-starter in 2026
