I own this exact model and it's very good. I would buy this again if mine failed

Got this in store yesterday. Install was pretty simple and it blows ice cold. Debated this and the portable for $80 more.

I have two of these and I really like them. I would get a third one if it would fit in the window I need it to.

The Midea SmartHome app shows power consumption for the units and they are very efficient since they are inverter ACs.

Mine shows energy reporting not supported! Shows having latest firmware. Is any change new to turn on energy reporting?

At one point I had the energy monitor only showing on one of the two units, but the other one didn't say it wasn't supported, it just didn't show energy monitoring as a feature at all. Then one day it just showed up and worked, I hadn't performed any recent updates.

I did perform device firmware updates on both units during initial setup through the app, but it didn't coincide with the energy monitor suddenly working 🤷

I have a question for you guys. I live in an old apartment that runs all electricity on one circuit breaker. So I cannot have too many appliances run at once. Currently I have the 8000 BTU Midea U shape and another 8k btu Frigidaire that I need to replace. I wonder if I get the Midea 12000 btu would it draw too much electricity and causing the circuit to break or would it only draw enough to cool the same room where the 8000 is now? This place is so bad that I can't have a Toaster, Microwave and blow drier running at once. So I'm afraid to increase the BTU from the current 8000 to a 12000. Any enlightenment is appreciated.

Same mismatch on the portable model I want to get, hoping at least the local warehouse will have it at the advertised price.

I installed this just last weekend, and that was a refurb one from Walmart - $259.99. They had a prior issue with the drain plug that had to be replaced, so that's really the only refurb aspect - and the plugs have been changed to a different design.
The unit itself so far has been great. I got mine for my master bed/bathroom at nighttime so I don't have to run the whole house (downstairs as always is a lot cooler than upstairs). Tested a few times and it worked great for the space I have.
