Bought 4 units in the past 12 years, all died after a year or so and Customer support is crappy.

All cyberpowers are going strong more than 4 years with zero issues.

Just get a refurbished Ecoflow River 3 Plus (or River 2 even cheaper if you don't need 600W) for ~$150. Can support 600W (surge much higher), has 10ms UPS, 286Wh of LFP batteries are higher capacity and better cycle life than lead acid UPS batteries.

Modern LFP power stations with UPS functionality are just a much better value option than traditional UPS's these days.

What's the float voltage? I heard APC kills batteries faster than other brands.

I have several of these and they have performed without issue. Battery replacement after 3 - 5 years, but otherwise they are rock solid.

This unit is a full sinewave unit, which is nice to have for sensitive electronics. 300w also isn't really that much. However this is somewhat warm when you can get a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD refurbed from woot for 180 regularly. That would give you 1000w.

I've had a 15000va with the same battery that has been going for like 4+ years. It does click from time to time now but it stops after a while and runs smooth again. I would say it's been pretty good for the most part.

Isn't this one 600w?

Had similar experience with their smaller units. A year or so and the battery is screaming at you.

Possibly. Newer battery chemistries seem to lose about half of their lifespan if you keep them at 100% state of charge all the time. A 10 year LifePo4 now becomes 5~ years.

Lead acid is happy to stay near 100% all the time. So far my UPS supplies seem to go about 5-7 years before the lead acid batteries give out. Replacements can be found suspiciously cheaply. I think I got a pair of them shipped for roughly $30~35. Most lifepo4 designs dont seem designed for easy battery replacement.

I bought my APC in June 2021, and it's still going strong. Paid $100+tax on it and included a surge protector though.
