The current black ticket deal for giftory is $29 for 2 tickets and a popcorn. This deal is $35 for 2 tickets and a $20 gift card. So the Costco deal is better.

The going rate for a standard movie is $12 to $13, so you're effectively getting a $20 gift card for an extra $10. Also, no Stubs Rewards when you redeem the ticket -- a small price for the discount.

Very few 'standard format' showtimes available at my local theaters. Does anyone know what the upcharge is for other formats? The terms say there is one but don't lay it out:

"Subject to surcharge for 3D, premium large screen format (e.g., IMAX®, Dolby®, AMC Prime®), film festivals, and premium services; location services may also apply at select locations, including Disney and Universal properties operated by AMC"

I'm in Ohio (unfortunately) and regular digital is $13.50 at the nearby AMC, but there are tons of showtimes with 20% off. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are 50% on top of that.
Still a decent deal if you like to go on weekends.
