So yeah clear out everyone including pets and put warning signs on your doors if you plan to use it in the house. These are great for making an old or smoked in car smell fresh again - run the internal air circulator on the car while using so the ozone gets the HVAC pipes as well. Unplug it from the extension cord when done (don't open the car and take a big whiff of toxic air while you fumble to turn it off). Again signs! and lock the doors to the car as well while it is in use. A while after unplugging the ozone generator you can open the doors of the car and let it vent out but keep an eye on it while it is venting out for a bit.
The panic and fear mongering people have about these devices is over the top. Like any tool, if you misuse it or fail to read the instructions, well then that's on you. Every single one I have purchased is smack full of warnings.
Remember, no PPP during operation: People Pets or Plants. Also "R": rubber. Rubber breaks down in the presence of concentrated ozone.

Old'sCool writes: "We use an ozone generator to clean mildew and mold smells from flooded residences. One word of caution: Ozone will eat or oxidize certain materials. Gold-plated sunglasses, gold-plated speaker terminals, certain plastics and copper can suffer from long-term exposure to ozone."
And several posters noted that they haven't had any issues with ozone generators in cars, but they didn't leave them overnight or anything.
The following site says not to run an ozone generator for multiple days on end and one will probably be fine, though naturally I'd expect them to have a bit of bias in favor of ozone
