Price is also ok - I bought mine at Costco for $349 a couple months ago.
Toner is the 218A/218X.
218A is "standard" yield, 1300 pages black, 1200 pages color.
218X is "high" yield, 3200 pages black, 2500 pages color.
Uses 4 total cartridges, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow for color (CMY) and Black (K).
OEM Toner is ~$80 for K, ~$95 for CMY each for 218A. ~$115 for K, ~$135 for CMY each for the 218X.
3rd party is significantly cheaper, around $120 for a full set of 218A.
Just be really careful buying 3rd party. Don't buy anything with no reviews, and don't expect full yield from anything advertising 218X yield at 218A pricing. Half of these guys selling refurb cartridges disappear before people realize their cartridges are only giving half the yield they advertised.
Side note - Toner lasts basically forever. You could throw this printer in storage for 5 years, pull it out, and it'll print just fine. Don't have to worry about a cartridge drying out, or jamming a printhead like you do with inkjet printers.
You're paying way more up front, but it's worth it.
