Harman Kardon Go + Play is a portable Bluetooth speaker aimed at big, room filling sound, with stereo drivers that give it more depth than typical mono speakers. The sound gets praised for strong bass, clear mids, and enough volume for parties, offices, showers, and outdoor use, while Bluetooth calling also gets a nod for meetings. The main tradeoff is size and value, since it is a bit large for smaller spaces and the newer Go + Play 3 is repeatedly described as better sounding, though usually much pricier. A solid pick if you want premium sound without chasing the newer model.
Shower listeners who want a compact speaker with lively sound, because it handles wet-room listening well and delivers big sound for its size.
The Go + Play 3 is the stronger model, with more power, newer Bluetooth, deeper bass, and a more home-focused sound. The older Go + Play is lighter and can be the better value if you want the classic design and solid room-filling audio.
It delivers big sound for its size and works well outdoors, but it is a little large for smaller spaces. It is better suited to room-filling listening, showers, or patio use than to compact desks or tight rooms.
At around this sale price, it is considered a fair buy for a limited-function speaker with strong sound. The high retail price is not a good benchmark, since these speakers are often discounted heavily.
Older Harman Kardon Bluetooth speakers in this line reportedly have easily replaceable batteries. That makes them more serviceable over time than sealed-battery speakers.
Go Play 3 is larger and definitely amps up the sound.
Two in stereo are fantastic. I got mine for $109 (not including cashbacks which brought final price below $90) during a Holiday sale.
So basically one could get a bigger, better unit at a cheaper price if one is patient. But aside of this, the HK units are as better for their size as anything else if you value fidelity over fake bass.
Where/when did you get it? Thanks.
Gonna be on the lookout for that.
Now that's some "full price isn't real" pricing if I've ever seen it.
Oh yeah, JBL/Harman is notorious for that, though they generally make solid products.
The only companies who DON'T do that such as Ascend and Hsu are comparatively tiny and obscure internet-direct manufacturers which offer even better bang for the buck year round, but sometimes folks complain that their rare sales are "only" 5-10% off regular price 🤣 Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Not your father's Harman Kardon...owned by Samsung now I believe. 30 years ago, their receivers were top notch. This is a good speaker, but makes yearn for the hi-Fi of days gone by

Has sold for $129 in the past but not sure if it will ever drop to that price again.

The speaker can deliver big sound despite staying portable for everyday listening.
The stereo driver layout with dual woofers and a separate tweeter can improve sound versus typical mono Bluetooth speakers.
The speaker can work well for shower use and can produce life like sounds at this price point.
The eBay coupon can reduce the effective price by about $10 compared with the listed amount.
The Go + Play 3 can sound better than this model, so this deal may not match buyers seeking the newer sound.
The speaker's sound can be less impressive than higher-end options, and some buyers may find the category muddys certain tracks.
The newer Go + Play 3 can still be priced much higher on Amazon, which can make the upgrade feel expensive.
The speaker can feel too large for smaller spaces even though it works well outdoors.

Don't be fooled by the crazy high retail price. This thing should retail for this sale price - it's a $100 limited function speaker.
