Are these any good? I don't care about all the Alexa stuff but definitely want a smart thermostat.

If you use Alexa for other stuff, it works great. Very basic and simple. But if you don't use Alexa, the "smartness" of this wouldn't be very smart. After all, it is Alexa based.

It's not really smart without the home assistant LOL that's the whole point

Having Alexa or any other assistant in a thermostat does not make it smart. I want to see maybe energy usage, for how long was the A/C on during any given period, program it to only run during certain hours of the day or of the week, or maybe analyze the data and suggest tips to reduce energy usage, control it remotely, etc. None of those things need Alexa.

These thermostats are NOT good as they don't last very long, It lasted me for about a year, reminds me of the Alexa Coffee pots that didn't last very long either.

I bought one of these from Woot two years back for just a bit less I think and it's been absolutely fine. The installation is really clear and well thought out. it has really nice subtle styling that fits white walls, modernist look well.

It even comes with an optional mounting plate that covered the screw holes from our previous, analog thermostat. The only negative is that it's tied to Alexa ... but I'm going to install Home Assistant soon.

Mine is going on 3 years now. I use my ring application to change the temps.

Even without Alexa you get many benefits. Custom scheduling and profiles. Home awareness. Remote thermostat setting via app. Fan circulation (replacing a mechanical timer). The logic board is Honeywell, so internals are similar to a common thermostat. And with a cheap Alexa speaker you can make adjustments from any room without your phone. You can whisper temperature changes to Alexa. After weather it's the most useful Alexa feature.

You've been blessed! Ratings on this thermostat are horrible, as many people have said!

I bought 25 of these during the last Lowes deal...I was so excited after installing these in one of the facilities..1st disappointment was these do not support 2 stage commercial units and the other disappointment was NO Home assistant native integration. Spent 2 days with no luck...Planning to replace with Ecobee Enhanced.

Have it, wouldn't buy again. They have several really limiting features, for example you can only set 3 temperatures, home, away, and sleep, and cycle through those, with them required to be in descending temp order... Well, when I'm home alone I want it between the home and away temps because I want it warmer than my wife does... I need to have silly Alexa routines to work around it...

I've had one for several years. Have no problem with it. If I forget to turn the thermostat up when I leave, I do it from my phone. It's not fancy, but works fine
