Going from laptop, Firestick, or phone to 100w RMS tower speakers is incredibly quiet. Maxing out volume on my receiver (70) "feels" the same as when I have a mini3.5 to RCA from laptop into receiver at 40. I would be more precise but I don't have a way to measure the volume with anything other than my ear.
The problem with this volume is that for my use case, I am doing cardio and the treadmill makes enough noise that I need to set my receiver to 55 in order to easily hear the music over the treadmill. And using this is unable to send a strong enough signal to get up to that level.
I get that these volume numbers are meaningless to your specific use case, but their relative values should be helpful.
