From the Steam Page:
Dive into a freezing underwater adventure on an alien planet. Below Zero is set two years after the original Subnautica. Return to Planet 4546B to uncover the truth behind a deadly cover-up. Survive by building habitats, crafting tools, & diving deeper into the world of Subnautica.

This isn't Subnautica 2 - which is in pre-release

Below Zero hit this price every few months. Not much of a deal.

The real deal is if you buy the Subnautica bundle on Steam.
Subnautica 2 is $30 by itself but the bundle with Subnautica 1 and Subnautica BZ is $40.47.

Subnautica is one of the best games I've ever played. Subnautica Below Zero is like Subnautica, but with forgettable, glitchy enemies, far less interesting biomes, terrible vehicles, a horrid story that was rewritten over and over and never fully fixed, and "above water" gameplay that made me want to tear my hair out. BZ is the reason I'm not buying Subnautica 2 in early access, and why I have seriously doubts that it'll be good. I really, REALLY hope it'll be as amazing as Subnautica, but BZ is basically a dumpster fire.

If you own Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero, you can get a bundle discount on Sunautica 2. I ended up getting it for around $25ish. Not a huge savings, but still saves a few bucks. Subnautica 2 is a huge improvement over the other 2, well worth it.

Below zero blows compared to the first subnautica. Smaller Biomes and a boring story. The Mystery atmosphere of the first game is not present with this one.

I don't understand why people like to hate on this game. It's good and certainly worth the price. Played this and 1 all the way through in VR. Some of the land vehicles were a little nauseating in VR but I can't fault the game for that since it's not a native VR game.

It's worth mentioning that Subnautica 2 is still in Early Access. It's in very good shape for early access, but don't expect it to be a polished product. Performance is a little rough, especially compared to S1 and SBZ. There are areas that are literally fenced off with an "IN DEVELOPMENT" message.

Agree! I love subnautica 1 and ordered Below Zero during early access or pre-order, which I did only to support the team. Then, I couldn't bring myself to play the game more than a few hours. The magic simply was not there. Well, could get a reminder of never pre-order with a more expensive purchase I guess!

Also $7.50 on the eshop for the OG or this, as well as the vastly improved switch 2 versions of each.
