Oh wow, that's an EXCELLENT price for a Luminox piece!

For anyone who doesn't know, what sets these watches apart is tiny vials of luminescent material embedded in the watch face that constantly fluoresce without needing to be exposed to UV light. It's the closest thing you can get to a radium dial these days and a really neat piece of technology.

Meh, Luminox watches can be hit or miss quality wise. Also, most of their watches still use inferior T25 Tritium compared to the brighter and longer lasting T100 Tritium. If you've ever seen both tubes in person in a dark environment, you'd choose T100 any day. For the money, I'd rather rock Deep Blue Daynight diver and not worry about abusing it.

The Swiss-made mb-microtec T-100 tritium tubes are amazing - Aragon watches uses those too. The Luminox is neat though.

ProTek uses T-100 as well. I believe the owner of Luminox started ProTek.

Had this same watch, stopped working after three years. Sent back to Luminox for repair service of $150 in NY, came back with movement loose inside the watch. Had to send it back again. Sold it after return. Not that good of a watch brand. Moved on back to Casio G-Shock, much more reliable. If you want something real mil-spec go checkout Marathon watches (have tritium also) and under a budget get Bertucci (regular lume) from Long Island watches.

Thanks for the great review. I was planning to pull the trigger.

The deep blue watch sale is a much better value, if you don't care about the name brand

i own a heavily discounted luminox that i picked up for ~$150 that is a stunner to look at it with this beautiful yellow dial. that's about the most id ever pay for one imo.

unless you absolutely love the colorway/design like i did for this one watch, there are just better alternatives in terms of build quality, value etc. casio comes to mind with their square metal case/resin band models at around this price point.

I definitely wouldn't go by that review. 3 years and it worked great. The service could have been as simple as a battery. The loose piece could have been a shipping thing. Who knows. If you want it then buy it. If you can afford another brand, then get that. All experiences are different depending on budget and how anal a person is.

Thanks! Is this watch made in Switzerland or China?

I've had the same Luminox working great for over 5 years.
