Agree. How do you justify paying 1k more than a c5 or about 1200 more than a s90f?
Easy, it's $1,500 less than a G6 for similar/identical tech. The best value will always be last year's model getting cleared out at a big discount, this is for those that want the best/newest tech without going for the G6 where the price starts getting (subjectively) unreasonable. The 77G5 for $2,000 + credits is probably the better option for anyone buying now and wanting the Tandem panel though.
Since I'm not actively looking to upgrade my S95C, I am okay waiting for the 77C6H to hit the $1,500 price it likely will in a year but I don't think $2,500 now is unreasonable for someone buying their first big OLED.

Completely disagree. It's a TV, which have already gone pretty far in technological advances. How much better is the c6h to justify 40-50% price jump especially like you said will drop off in like 6 months? And like you said if you really want a G get a g5. If you don't own an oled already, I doubt you are someone who needs the latest and greatest. You are likely to be blown away from a c5 or s90f from whatever non oled you came from.
I'm still running a Sony A1E. It's developed a line that comes and goes vertically but I keep telling myself it's not bad enough to replace. I know the brightness has drastically improved since then. Any reason to tip me into replacing? I just can't decide if it's justified until it fully dies.

Get a good deal at BF and put that one somewhere else.

Nobody is saying you should buy this $2,500 tv. It's the best price available for those that want it. You keep using the word justify about an expensive TV, but it's a luxury good, what is there to justify? C5 for $1,500 is a better value which I already said in the previous post that you completely disagreed (?) with. A refurb 77 inch C4 for $1,000 is a better value than that so how do you justify the 77 inch C5 for 50% more???? I'm sure there are plenty of fine TVs for less than $500 so it's all relative. C6H has better processing and brightness, but you pay a premium to get the best, no doubt.
I didn't say anything about first OLED, I said big (as in large screen) OLED. If you're coming from a 55 inch C1-4, a 77C5 would look the same for the most part. For those upgrading to a bigger size, I think 77G5/77C6H would look noticeably better and make the upgrade feel worth it. For people that already have a big screen OLED (like me), I feel it makes sense to wait, but it's a tempting upgrade.
I said 12 months, but the price could be cheaper in 6 months and people can do their own math on will they get $500 of enjoyment from having it 6 months earlier. And yes 77G5 is a better value than this if it's cheaper but each TV has different strengths, I don't think it's as simple as G5 > C6H. People can check out reviews to see what's important to them and I think there are plenty of cases where the 77C6H is a good buy at $2,400.

This is the age old debate on SD. For true SDers, just because something is the best price for a certain product at the moment, doesn't make it a slick deal, which means it's not worth mentioning. The name of the website is not bestatthemoment, it's Slickdeals.
Also I disagree that if you are coming from a 55 inch c1-4, that a 77 c5 is not much different. It's a significant difference due to just size alone and thus a significant difference in enjoyment, but for most people, they probably wouldn't appreciate the increase in going to a c6h. I also disagree that for $500 less, a refurb c4 is a better deal. I would never buy a refurb oled at whatever price. Sure some people get lucky and get tv with only a few hours on it, but it's not guaranteed. But since it's such a big item, it's not worth the hassle of returning it in case you get something with tons of use already. The c5 for $1500 or the s90f for around $1300 is just the best bang for the buck in TV right now, hands down. I have yet to hear a case for how this c6h is a good deal. Is it a better tv? Sure, but I don't see how anyone can justify it is 67% better.
