I'd spend the extra to get a 36 inch with a hinge rather than a cover if I were shopping for a griddle now. The hinged lid is super nice to have for many cooks. You can do a lot with a dome cover to steam vegetables (or otherwise create an oven/steaming effect), but it's super nice to just flip that lid down for a minute and let the heat/steam build over the entire cooking surface.
