You dont have to wait until the end. You can use another person's info in your household and register them as a "new" customer. Once schedule a self-install at the check-out. The device will be delivered to your house. You can decide "instal" date. The internet will cutoff at like 3am in the morning and you can do a self-install right after that in early morning using the app. Just remove the old modem and replace it with new modem. Let is settle down for 5 minutes and continue in app. Takes about 15-30 minutes all in all. I've done this.

Don't shut off your current service. First sign up new service with another person's info (+casback) first. During tje checkout you will select the self install date. That is the date when the old service will be disconnected and new service will be ready to be activated. The modem for the new service will be delivered before the install date. Xfinity will automatically send you an email about cancelation for the current service. The old service will disconnect early morning on the day if "self-install" date. Do not connect the new modem before that (to avoid issues). At the morning of the entire activation process is driven via the app. In this entire process I haven't talked to customer for anything.

AT&T can't be trusted. Full stop. Horrible customer service. I signed up for NFL package a few years ago and had trouble getting connected so I called Customer Service. Their rep cussed me out. Another time I bought a phone with unlimited plan and then the next day they called me to say it wasn't unlimited. They flat out lied to get me to sign up. So AT&T is permanently off my options list.

Looks dead? I wandered thru their site several times and a modal window popped up that basically said "our plans have changed". I'm seeing 300mbps for $70/mo w/o any mention of GC.

One food thing about comcast is if you call and go through a hassle with them when your pricing is about to go up they will give another great deal... I've been with them for over 15 years and now am under yet another deal for $40/mo for internet. I cant remember what speed it is, though. Sometimes they have the higher speeds up around 800mbps or 1gbps for $40/mo. But I think Im down at 300 or less again right now.

You can also have them transfer the modem to the "new" customer aka the other person in the house so you do not have to wait for a new modem nor have to activate it yourself. Just request them to transfer device to new account holder.

Horrible deal because Xfinity is absolute trash. I had them for a 2 years and my internet was unreliable. After 10+ service requests (without resolving the issue) I had to switch to att fiber.

These types of deals are probably not for you. Not to be mean, but to play the system, you gotta know the system. You can not keep your mobile line and cancel your service without an entirely separate slick workaround to port in and out
