I'm feeling very confused about what this book is about. Title and cover suggests poultry, description suggests either poultry or pasta and the reviews suggest it's about bread.

This book is Beard's cookbook for poultry. Amazon linked the book to reviews on another famous cookbook called "Beard on Bread," which is not this book. I bought this, so I can confirm that it is a poultry cookbook.
This is actually an updated definitive poultry cookbook that was originally written in the 1940's as "Fowl and Game Cookery." Back then, chicken was a luxury party food, and was selected individually from a butcher. This 1999 edition is updated for modern supermarkets, but it does show its game roots. The chapters are: Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Squab and Pigeon, Goose, Pheasant, Quail, Snipe and Woodcock, Dove, Stuffings, and Sauces.
I'm probably only going to ever use the Chicken, Turkey, and Duck sections.

I'm a little confused about the relevance of free shipping when it comes to an eBook.
