That's plenty long enough for a glass carafe. Coffee sitting on a warmer longer than that is undrinkable, and please, all of you thermal carafe fans just fuggetaboutit, let it go. Thermal carafes ruin coffee almost instantly, they are "not" the way. Brew fresh into a glass carafe, drink fresh, or you might as well drink instant.

I like the look of this coffeemaker. Knock-off? Absolutely, but it seems to be a very fair price if it copies the brewing performance of a Technivorm. It's a lot classier than my wife's "Flex-Brew".

Help me out here, why is it a shill post? Is SlickDeals paid to promote it?

Pretty much all drip coffee machines work exactly the same way. They're extremely simple devices.

They have a heating element under the glass pot that boils the water and the resulting pressure forces water up through a central tube which pours water over the grounds, which drip into the pot.

The downside of these machines is that the coffee stays warm by adding heat. The heating element both heats the pot and boils the water. This cooks the coffee.

A better machine would use a vacuum insulated steel carafe instead which keeps coffee warm by preventing heat loss rather than adding heat. Otherwise they act the same.

40 min keep warm is a hard pass.

Simply Good pulls the same garbage.

If you don't want to sell a non-thermal carafe, don't. (For clarity, I don't want a thermal carafe either -- we agree on that point)

It all depends on water temp and how it is dispersed into the coffee. The warming plate is kind of the kiss of death for coffee... reviews are okay, replacement parts might be hard to get, but I would think that the glass carafe would be pretty easy to replace. I don't know what else might break other than that. It is a good coffeemaker from what the reviews state- probably better than mr. coffees, etc. For that price I'd try one if I didn't already have a Technivorm and a Bonavita, and too many other ways to brew coffee. I have a problem.
