Costco is definitely not cheaper over the years I've seen it in store
The 14 pack is currently on sale at Costco for $12.39 which is $0.885/bar vs. this Amazon deal of which I got as low as $11.36 with my S&S discount which is still $1.136 a bar.

That's still substantially higher.

The normal Costco price is 17.99/14, which is $1.285 a bar.

I've been getting this same error on all of these Amazon posted deals. I've contacted Amazon several times ove the last few months but have had zero success in getting an answer as to why or how to fix it. If anyone has had success in resolving the issue I'd really appreciate how you got it resolved. Thanks!

I think it's OK to want to eat objectively 'clean' protein bars without all the added fake sweeteners and stuff but can we all acknowledge that these are objectively disgusting? Like no one bites into one of these as a treat right?

I actually think these are pretty good. Have had a lot of bars that I would agree with you on though.

The answer to your question is that this isn't a problem amazon created, it's a problem this site's moderators created. Mods here post 'deals' repeatedly over a long time span that are all dependent on one time use promo coupons, also deals that depend on targeted coupons few people get. In olden times before this site morphed into a click farming business model, and deals were submitted by actual users, we'd get warnings and posts removed or merged if they used coupon codes that had already been posted previously.

if you prefer an alternative brand similar to this one here...
look into Aldi stores where they sell "Elevation Maxx" package that has 4 Bars each and sells for ~$5.
