It regularly gets down to $76. It's frequently bundled with motherboards and RAM on Newegg so go for that. I'd say if you just want a CPU get a Ryzen 5 3600 on eBay and save some cash.

Looking briefly, used 3600s are going for $65-70. New 5600s are double that and then new 5800Xs and XTs are triple that.

The latter are likely overpriced to be paired with my B550 and GTX 1060.

I got a 3600X for $50 after tax and shipping. Sold 3600s go for less than 60 typically. At the end of the day $86 for a 5500 is pretty bad considering its lower cache and PCIE 3.0 limit compared to the 3600, especially since it goes on sale for less very often.
