I assume you're not kidding so allow me to introduce you to the outlet extender, friend of every boxy power supply user out there: https://a.co/d/07Z0V7vS (bought this 12 pack last year for $18 but for such short distances almost any one will work for almost any use. ) This is how people are able to use all of the outlets of whatever power tap / surge protector they are using regardless of physical size. I even use one of those for my plug in snow thrower/mower so if I go too far I don't have any chance of breaking off a fork saving me having the fish one out of the outlet or replace my expensive outside extension cord.

Power strips are cheap. Literally just long metal bus bars that wire outlets in parallel. If you ever break one open, it's almost comically simple.
The bottom with the USB ports though is NOT simple. Break that open and it looks like a small computer.
USB ports convert AC electricity to DC, so you need a rectifier. Then you need a switching controller to step the voltage down, then you need a transformer to provide isolation and voltage conversion, you need a circuit board to provide stable regulation at 5V and you need another chip to handle the USB "negotiation".
yeah the price on these circuits have become cheap, but getting higher amperage requires more advanced (expensive) circuitry. Additionally, you start experiencing switching losses and having serious issues with cooling.
That's why it's "cheap" to have 18 outlet strips, but expensive to have more USB
