You're getting a $35 extra band on Amazon vs a $35 google store credit (that you would probably purchase a band with). So same price if you plan on getting the extra band.

Isn't that base price? Except if you order through google store you get $35 credit.

Ah I see. I only wish i could find out info on if it would work on my bicep. need to keep it there
It won't. And Google has no intentions of coming out with a bicep band in the short term either.
But there will definitely be third party options available. Likely VERY soon too.
Agreed. Google is missing out by not having an arm band. I have a 3rd party arm band for my screenless amazfit and this fitbit air is going to have 10x the customer base.

What's the advantage of placing it on your arm?

not to detract from the deal but is anyone else tryna wait for the 3rd party bands that will come out in the following months? Can't imagine a few silicon bands being more than 10$
FYI: The real reviews will come after May 26. For now, they are unboxing vids.
The HW does look visually similar to the Fitbit Charge ones, so it's not clear whether the HW received any upgrades. There are fewer sensors than on the Pixel Watch and the Fitbit Sense.
The software does, but it will work with older Fitbits, too.
