This is the sweet spot for me. This set is small but have enough power for most of my usage. I have 4 of these 4 AH and is my primary go to. At $10 per ah, is about the best you can get other than a price mistake.

They practice Commingled Inventory, which is a way of saying "we don't care if we sell counterfeits". So no, I can't trust scAMazon for that reason alone. I've been personally burned by this. Not worth it.

I got the pair from Lowes and they were marked Dec 2025. Other retailers have them but were reported had date stamp 2023 which makes it too old. Calendar cell degradation is real.

I get confused with all the different battery types. Can someone tell me what the difference is between the ones in this post and the ones at this link that cost a lot more?

The older DCB204 model uses two rows of type 18650 lithium cells. The newer DCB240 uses a single row of 21700 cells, making it lighter weight and less bulky. https://www.epectec.com/articles/...18650.html

Which model costs more at any given time seems to be mainly a matter of inventory levels.

Yeah, I'd be interested in knowing what manufacturing date is stamped on the top of these, if anyone orders them. I bought the 3 ah ones in a Slick Deal for $38 about a month ago from Home Depot, and they were manufactured 4 years ago! Of course, li-ion batteries degrade over time even when not used. Plan to return those, but would like some newer replacements at a good price, like this.
