I have a couple zoom pedals and they offer pretty solid bang for the buck. If you are looking for nuanced high quality effects I'd probably pass. If you want weird or heavily decimated or crushed tones this is a really cool box. Not saying it can't do decent overdrives, but it's definitely a more digital sounding unit.

This answer my question about whether this has a amp+cab stage built in front of it. There's other pedals similar to Tone-X stuff that have effects and distortion in the chain, similar to quad cortex (obviously not to the same extent). I think Valeton did one
