I used to use wire brushes until I learned the risk of those. I went to stainless steel chainmail scrubber, but eventually it was gross. I just use cedar planks at this point and unlikely will go back to metal.

Yeah I have seen the horror stories of the wire brushes but tbh I still use them but clean up the grates with paper towels and oil after do, keeps things seasoned nicely. I carefully visually inspect them before cooking to make sure no strands are left behind.

At this price, I'll just snag this to replace my current wire brush when it's finished. I grill about 5x a week so not a bad investment.

I've found wood scrapers and steam cleaners to be the best, especially used together (use the wood for light scraping and steam for deep cleaning).

Have a Weber propane grill. Doesn't do a great job of cleaning the low spots because the ends of the scrubbers get caught on the cross bracing of the grates

That is a nice looking metal scrubber. I always end up with a bunch every fall when my local stores have them up 90% off but they are not as nice as that one but for pocket change.

Wish it was all stainless steel, so you could toss it in the dishwasher after every use.
