Bought these last time and disagree with previous poster. The internal components are not plastic in ThermoMaven, they are steel. That's why I jumped on it because it doesn't heat up or pulverize pepper. It cracks/grinds the peppercorns very well and the pepper flavors come through in every dish. I totally recommend these and just charged them for the first time last night since purchasing, so the charge holds for a long time even with frequent usage.

I used my manuel unicorn for 10 years (american test kitchen winner a while back), then I decided to try this. You can only grand fine accurately. Any other setting its give you random grinds. My unicorn i rank a 9 out of 10 for uniformity, consistency, speed. This product I got for about $25 2 weeks ago. I give it a 3 out of 10. It is inconsistent and slow.

They put a light on it and couldn't be bothered to add a metal burr? Ceramic burrs are brittle and not accurate.

Um it has a ceramic burr and not a steel one. Not sure what you are referring to?

Cue the person complaining about laziness and that this is indicative of modern society's downfall.
