This 2 pack rapid cold brewer is a quirky countertop gadget for making cold coffee faster, with a French press like setup that spins the grounds in cold water. The brewer has also been used successfully for mixing Metamucil, and the two pack price drew praise as worth it. Cleaning is the main drawback, since coffee can collect in the bottom gap and the gasket and screen do not always keep grounds out. The current price feels acceptable, but not much higher.
Common Questions (5)
It spins the coffee in cold water rather than stirring it, using a French-press-like setup to speed extraction. The design is meant to make cold brew faster, but it is also described as a bit of a science experiment.
At $10 for two, it is described as worth it and a good value, especially if you want one to keep and one to give away. It is also said to be worth this price but not much more.
There are reports of membership charges appearing even after using a free-shipping coupon, along with missing one-click cancel options and poor support response. One comment also warns of fraud concerns and recommends disputing the charge if needed.
Cleaning can be difficult because coffee can collect in the bottom gap and the rubber gasket can let grounds slip into the base. That makes it less convenient than a French press for some users.
Yes, it can be used to mix Metamucil and reportedly does that job very well. The spinning action helps blend the powder into liquid.
