It's probably cheap enough not to matter, but my concern is the app disappearing or losing compatibility in 2 years.

I'm on the fence, this company that makes the products are China based and so is the app. I'm concerned about spyware usually

Probably can use the tuya app with this. Most are generic and just use the same protocols

Almost guaranteed that it's Tuya based anyway. Nearly all these no name Chinese WiFi smart devices use Tuya. Many use a fork of with their own app but they can be used in the Tuya app instead.

It's a given any data that can be grabbed will, but that's why you pay less in many cases. Also it's not like your smart sprinkler is going to steal your identity.
