I had one similar to this and the solar for the camera never really worked well, especially in the winter. The feeder didn't hold much seed - gone in an hour or so. Also, I think all of the birds in the neighborhood chose it as their personal toilet as it was a real mess to clean every day. :-(

I bought a similar one and it's decent for the price, the solar panel keeps it fully charged (haven't tested it in winter) and the camera is surprisingly good. Just keep in mind that the AI bird identifier is a trial and requires subscription after (you still get notifications after trial ends).

I like this design much better than the one I got on black friday. Mine basically feeds seed into a large tray for birds to feed from, and I have a couple birds sit there all day and literally sweep everything out of the tray onto the ground.

Are they referring to different service they offer and it isn't actually free or what?

That's the old okie-doke...this model does NOT include the camera or solar charger. Just the metal box with mounting hardware...
