Usually OK for: Simple phone chargers, Basic laptop chargers, Power tool battery chargers, Incandescent lights, Small fans. Most switching power supplies will still work.
Not recommended for: CPAP machines, Audio equipment, Medical devices, Some laser printers, High-end laptops/workstations, Certain battery chargers, Appliances with AC motors. Some devices simply refuse to operate correctly.
Actually the Ridgid 175W inverter bought in March wasn't so bad, it was $38 shipped.

Resistive heater? Aside from that 200w cap and the significant risk of a fire - and let's hope it's this inverter and not my DeWalt battery - there just isn't much that can fit under 200w and be useful. Coffeemaker's right out, so are toaster and microwave. Maybe a really small dorm fridge that's starting off already cool?
As for laptops or CPAPs - way too expensive to risk on dirty power from a generic source. Aside from which a lot of laptops can charge via PD USB-C, so again - this is just not a great source.
I picked one up because of course I did but I'm thinking this will never see use.
