Ti-83 plus has been the gold standard for at least 22-25 years now. The newer models definitely have wayyy more bells and whistles like backlit screen, rechargeable battery, actual ram and storage space, but like the commenter above this would likely be the one approved for certain classes. These were $110+ back in ~2004 so factoring in inflation this is a decent price for an educational tool still required in a lot of cases. Unlike college textbooks...

I mean, it's a 30 year old calculator running on a 50 year old CPU(predates Star Wars). Even with inflation this should not cost $65 today. That's like saying a Windows 95 computer that cost $1,100 new is a decent deal if sold today at $650.
The microprocessor hidden inside any $5 microSD card is faster than this. The CPU in a disposable digital pregnancy test is faster than this. You can literally build a redstone CPU inside vanilla Minecraft that is faster than this.
This should not cost $65, and it wouldn't except for the Texas Instruments monopoly in American high schools. The Washington Post estimates that even the newer upgraded ti-84+ costs only $15-20 to manufacture.

I've sold these on ebay many times and I swear Ti has hired a third party to buy them up from the secondary market to keep supply low. I think HP does the same with their toner cartridges.
