I am a new user of the Traeger not understanding the utility earlier in my grilling career. Wow. So love my grill and use it often. Great price!

I have the 34" wide Traeger and I just want to let you know that the temperature swings are ridiculous. On their website they even admit the swings can fluctuate 25 degrees (F). I had a Masterbuilt Gravity Smoker and it was no more than 5 degrees (F).
Before anyone hates, I did use Traeger pellet and no foil on the oil pan (lazy people do that so they don't have to clean it).

I own the Pro34 and while I do love it, the nickel and dime dance from Traeger is not worth it. My buddy owns a PitBoss that you can see the quality build difference. This is the route I recommend anyone to go.

What is Traeger nickel and diming you on? Foil bucket liners? I've owned a Traeger for about 8 years now, and I have only bought bucket liners, and a replacement probe-entry-point gasket. And those were knockoffs from Amazon.

I agree. There couldn't have been a more confusing way to express whatever point he was trying to make.

I had a bad experience with mine - replaced controller, replaced temp probe, replaced auger motor, replaced hot rod... all per troubleshooting with Traeger. I still had constant flame outs and wild temp swings (+/- 50 deg F). Always fresh pellets, always clean out after every cook (and sometimes during the cook after a flame out), covered when not in use, but it was never reliable. It's unfortunate because when it did work, the results were always very good. I ended up getting rid of it and have been on the hunt for a replacement ever since.

Smokers are all about air flow, d, seen a youtube video explaining things you can do to MOD your soffset smoker to adjust airflow. MOD are extending the exhaust vent, adding a bread pan to the side of the smoker need to cut an hole on the bottom and holding it with bread dough, and using cooking racks to raise your brisket/food off the grates. here is the Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y...authuser=0

what nickel and dime dance?

I have two Traeger's. One is small , about 14 years old (got it used/like new). The other is the large one it's almost 10 years old. Haven't had to replace anything from either. A good cleaning has fixed the only issue I've had.

Have not checked the temp, so I can't comment . But since I haven't had any concern smoking over the years, I assume the heat is fairly accurate.

As for those that say a bit difference of temp, how did you check it? And why did you check it? ( I assume you had some issue that brought up the investigation)
