Nice looking but highly inaccurate when I compared it side-by-side with Fitbit Inspire 3. Do like the look and simplicity of the design though. To be fair, Inspire 3 is a tracker and this is a smartwatch.

The brand has is literally called 'Nothing' and has been around for several years. Definitely a legit brand and not just some name created for Amazon. They primarily make phones and wireless earbuds.

As far as the actual product, I have no idea if it is any good.

Do you have any info on the data "they" sell to insurance companies, which insurance companies, and how they use it "to bone you on fees and determine which procedures they will decline"?
If so, I'd love to read about it - not what they *could do, but what they *are doing, as you claim. And who "they" are.
Thanks

Any you would recommend, on a budget? Go refurbished or nah?
I have a T-Rex 2 for about 3 years now and it was well worth the money. I got it new but buying used shouldn't be an issue. A user of this watch cannot really do much damage so if you buy a Used-Excellent or Used-very good it should be fine.

Smart Watches are a privacy nightmare. They are tracking everything you do nearly 24 hours a day. They can infer many things about your health using biometrics and then they sell this data to insurance companies, which in turn use this data to bone you on fees and algorithmically determine which procedures they will decline to cover.
Just say no and wear a normal watch instead.

Can anyone explain what they mean by heart rate tracking? Does this record heart rate over time or just a display showing beats?

I understand not watching a smart watch, but a normal watch does basically none of the things people buying a smart watch are looking for. I haven't had the desire to wear a watch on my wrist for telling time in decades.

not an exact response, but my duckduckgo app tracking protection has blocked 42,974 hidden tracking attempts across 34 apps over the past 7 days.
Data is constantly being collected on you at every opportunity, and I find it exceedingly difficult to believe that all that data is being used for the benefit of consumers

LexisNexis, which generates consumer risk profiles for the insurers, knew about every trip G.M. drivers had taken in their cars, including when they sped, braked too hard or accelerated rapidly.

I had the first generation of Nothing earbuds.
They sounded decent, but both buds were shot in a year.
If I remember correctly it took months to get them.
Don't get me wrong, I liked them a lot.
They just should have held up longer.

I picked up one a few months back to replace my Garmin Vivoactive 3. The battery is definitely better on the Nothing watch, and it's less janky to charge than the Garmin. The screen is beautiful, but some days I miss the transreflective LCD on the Garmin. On the Nothing, I have to awkwardly twist my arm to see it with my polarized sunglasses. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it. It's too bad that there isn't a tool to make truly customizable watch faces. There are a number to choose from, but Garmin definitely has waaaaaay more to choose from.
I've been waiting for a real watch face maker to come out and am sad there still isn't one. What a miss.

I'm pretty sure they aren't doing this on an individual bases and more a demographic statically analysis. It wouldn't be cost efficient to monitor people individually.

The original post sounds like a conspiracy theory nut TBH

Is this a tinfoil hat guess, or do you have evidence this is happening? If so, please share. Real question.

Interesting take. Link us to a report or something verifying your assertions.

I have been using Amazfit watches for a number of years now. They are good as a fitness tracker or for hiking, running and other activities. Quite accurate as well but all one needs is a baseline to compare your day-to-day activity.
Do those connect to Apple Fitness like this Nothing does?

I have always had an Android, so I do not know the answer to that. It connects to Strava I believe but I do not use Strava. I have connected it to Google Fit or Health (forget the name) in the past to aggregate the stats.
