They didn't say they found a better price. This is just still a bad price. (It's Zero Sugar, so it's a bad product anyways, but i digress) Products like this, that have outpaced inflation, just no longer get purchased by a lot of us. There are cheaper brands, that are just as good, like Shasta.

I am a Dr pepper fan and others have told me that the zero sugar one is the best tasting zero sugar version of a soft drink. Trying it for $5.

I mean, that's what determines a "good" price on something today. Until time machines are available to go back and get something at a better price in the past or jump forward to a future sale, we're all kind of stuck with the best price today. Kroger companies think this is worth $12 and Walmart is selling them for $8. Kroger will sell you six 12 packs for $36...still $6/12 pack. Do we have to buy soda? No. But everybody has their indulgence. And, right now, it's hard to find 12 packs for under $5, even on sale. TBF, soda regularly went on sale for ~$3/12 pack before the pandemic, but that was also near the bottom of $2.50/12 I remember buying "on sale" way back in the 1900s. Whether it's actual production costs and shipping or simple greed, today and probably for the foreseeable future, this is a good deal on canned soda. (FWIW, actual syrup costs to vendors has also skyrocketed in the past dozen years. I used to buy BIB from a friend who owned a couple 7-11s at his cost - and they more than doubled from 2012-2020 when I decommissioned my fountain system.)

Good deal, but know you may have dented cans when they arrive. Amazon hasn't really figured out a great way to ship these.

I just got this a few weeks ago. Soda tasted like bad soda water. Found the cans had expired in 2025. Just check the dates. Had to return.
