Maybe. They work like crap when connected to most bluetooth devices, which is by design. Nintendo doesn't want them used on other devices. When connected to my Nvidia Shield, my SNES controller would only register a few buttons. On my Linux PC it registered all buttons, but Android recognized it as a Joycon.

There's more functional bluetooth controllers out there. Skip this.

Also requires Nintendo online or you can't even order it.

have you already bought one/some in the past? there are lifetime account limits to how many you can order (though I don't recall off hand what the limits are for each controller), though if you have a family plan for nintendo online, each user has their own order limit

This thing they've done with the restrictive bluetooth is baffling to me. I'm sure the intention is to keep people in the official retro Nintendo universe, but the vast majority of people literally don't even know how to download roms, as evident by the huge sales of Fire Red/Leaf Green recently. People that have a retroarch/Dolphin setup are not spending $80 on a Gamecube controller that doesn't work with it.

But I suspect it's more about their general philosophy of keeping a death grip on all their property.

Just got retroarch going last night and me and the wife are addicted! You know of any decent nes or snes controllers for it? Playing on Xbox

This or buy original SNES controllers for cheap on eBay and then the 8BitDo boards to make them wireless. Only downside is the proprietary charging cable.

Still would be my preferred route an original feel.
