I'm not saying this is a bad speaker at all (I've never actually heard one before) but it has always struck me as odd that this model has been priced so closely to the likes of the Partybox 110 (and successors). I owned the 110 and it was a fantastic speaker but the biggest limiting factor for me was the lack of carabineer clips. I solved that by simply adding luggage straps to the handles on both ends and a gym bag strap I had on hand. It could stand upright as well as be laid on either side (essentially the same lay down appearance as this GO model). I bought my 110 direct from JBL around November '24 when they had them on sale for $200. It just seemed like those deals, even the open box deals for standard PB models, provided a better value but again, I've never owned or heard this so it must bring something to the table for people to still be a prevalent as it is.

Anyone know of big advantages/differences for one style over the other? Maybe this one weighs less with a single woofer to make it easier to carry?

I've had one of these for a few years now. It's got some serious heft.
It comes to me to a softball field twice a week all Spring - Fall. It's got plenty of volume, and pretty solid mid and low bass for a portable boombox. I've literally never used the microphone, but it comes with one. Battery life at outdoor volumes (medium volume) you're looking at 3 to 5hrs of play. Keeping the LED off will help a bit, as will lowering the bass...but you want that thump!

If you're looking for a boombox, this sounds better than a Bumpboxx at the cost of a notably heavier package.
